Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the financial operations of the Critical Access Hospital. This position assists with budgeting, grant reporting, reimbursement, payroll accounting, general ledger management, and financial analysis to promote the hospital's financial stability and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting or business-related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of accounting experience. 
  • Healthcare or hospital accounting experience preferred. 
  • Experience with Medicare reimbursement, cost reporting, or Critical Access Hospital reimbursement methodologies is highly desirable. 
  • Experience with governmental or nonprofit accounting is a plus.  


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP. 
  • Understanding of healthcare finance and reimbursement principles. 
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Critical Access Hospital regulations are preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Experience with hospital financial systems or ERP software preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff.

Salary Description
$65,295 - $ 97,943 per year
