The Calibration Technician Level 3 will perform calibrations and repair high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation. This job may require a certain amount of specialization and will require technician to provide training in certain areas. A person in this position must be self-motivated and assist in general laboratory duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation either in house or on-site
- Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment
- Help interact with customer to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures utilized by Trescal Inc., as well as, for items requiring repair or limited calibration
- Interface directly with customers to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures utilized by Trescal Inc. as well as for items requiring repair or limited calibration
- Ensure that preventative maintenance of the laboratory's equipment is performed in a timely and acceptable manner,
- Performing daily inspections of the incoming equipment to verify: accessories and manuals are available, malfunctions of customer instrumentation, and to change equipment status when appropriate.
- Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
- Military training or experience, an Associates Degree in Electronics (or related technical field), or equivalent work experience & training
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience calibrating test & measurement equipment (in a commercial or military calibration lab preferred)
- Strong knowledge of metrology practices and theories, analog and digital circuit analysis
- Experienced in some or all of test and measurement equipment used in conjunction with the repair and calibration of electronic, mechanical, chemical, thermal and/or dimensional devices
- Possess strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities, and the ability to work on unique equipment with little or no product information
- Proficient in Windows-based and laboratory automation software
- Ability to apply basic statistical techniques necessary for measurement uncertainty analysis
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z-540-1 requirements
- Very good organizational skills, meticulous with details
- Strong communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills.
- Experience interacting with customers in a courteous and professional manner and providing an excellent customer experience.
