Position Summary: The Facilities Project and Safety Specialist is an entry-level role assisting in planning, coordinating, and executing facilities projects while actively supporting safety compliance efforts and day-to-day maintenance operations as needed. Working closely with Facilities and Safety leadership, this role helps coordinate projects, track safety initiatives and incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations. The position provides hands-on experience in project coordination, technical development, and safety management, creating a pathway for future growth into facilities or project leadership roles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Work closely with the Facilities Project Manager to support planning, tracking, and execution of facilities projects, including CapEx and operational initiatives
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, and trackers
- Coordinate with vendors for quotes, scheduling, procurement, and project updates
- Support project milestones including procurement, installation, and closeout
- Assist in developing facility layouts, space planning, and basic design concepts
- Review drawings, submittals, and project documentation under supervision
- Support infrastructure planning efforts, including electrical, racking, and equipment placement
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team as needed, including assisting with CAD drawings, documentation, and technical references
- Assist with maintenance-related tasks or coordination efforts on an as-needed basis to support facility operations
- Help identify recurring facility issues and support implementation of improvement solutions
- Support internal event setup and facility-related logistics as needed
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager to support safety programs, initiatives, and compliance efforts
- Assist in tracking safety actions, audits, corrective measures, and incident documentation
- Help coordinate safety improvements such as signage, mirrors, and risk mitigation efforts
- Manage employee badge creation and access control systems, maintain accurate records of access permissions, and support security-related requests and audits
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned to support facilities operations, projects, and safety initiatives

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.), Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant facilities or operations experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 0–2 years of experience in facilities, construction, engineering, project coordination, or operations support; internship experience is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of engineering and construction principles, with the ability to interpret drawings and layouts preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project tracking tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn facilities systems, safety practices, and project management processes.
- Safety certifications (OSHA, First Aid/CPR, Lean/Six Sigma) preferred.
