AH-64E Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Maintenance Advisor (SAMA) to support a U.S. Government Security Assistance Training Management Organization (SATMO) Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT) supporting an AH-64E Apache program.

The SAMA will provide senior-level aviation maintenance expertise, training, advising, and mentorship to help establish and sustain effective AH-64E maintenance management, Production Control, Quality Control, and maintenance programs.

The position focuses on the skills and experience of a U.S. Army 15R AH-64E Attack Helicopter Repairer and requires the ability to mentor senior aviation leadership and maintenance personnel. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advise, train, and mentor aviation maintenance personnel on AH-64E maintenance operations and procedures 
  • Assist with management of the maintenance flow chart 
  • Train personnel on the aircraft bank hour tracker 
  • Provide guidance on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance 
  • Train and advise personnel on parts ordering and Production Control 
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining effective Quality Control (QC) operations 
  • Provide technical mentorship to senior leaders, Engineering Officers, and senior maintenance technicians 
  • Perform Technical Inspector duties when designated 
  • Train and mentor personnel on Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) 
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining maintenance documentation for Aviation Ground Equipment (AGE) and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) 
  • Assist with Multi-Functional Ground Support Equipment (MFAGE) maintenance documentation and tracking 
  • Assist with monitoring, collecting, and submitting lubricant samples in accordance with the Army Oil Analysis Program 
  • Assist in developing sustainable AH-64E maintenance programs and procedures 
  • Support the development of the supported organization's long-term organic maintenance capability 

The overall TAFT mission is designed to build the supported organization's AH-64E maintenance expertise through training, advising, assisting, and mentoring. 

Requirements

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience performing or supervising helicopter maintenance 
  • Minimum 7 years of AH-64E maintenance experience requiring the skills of a U.S. Army 15R/15Z 
  • Minimum 5 years of AH-64E Technical Inspector or Quality Control Officer experience 
  • Previous unit Production Control and Quality Control experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert-level technical mentorship 
  • Experience performing or supervising aviation maintenance programs 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with senior aviation leaders and senior maintenance personnel  

Highly Desired

  • Previous AH-64E V6 maintenance experience 
  • Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) certification 
  • Previous Security Assistance / Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience 
  • Experience training or mentoring foreign military aviation personnel 

Deployment & Training Requirements

Pre-deployment requirements include:

  • Administrative processing 
  • Required pre-deployment training 
  • Passport and visa processing  
  • FACT training, a mandatory five-business-day course for new hires and personnel who have not completed the training within the previous six years.  

Security Requirements

A SECRET security clearance is not required. Personnel must comply with applicable U.S. Government, host-nation, installation, and program security requirements.
