POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Director is the lead financial professional for the Venue Operations division and is responsible for financial oversight and management of the divisional finance team. The Finance Director owns all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for the division to further the growth and goals of the business in addition to contributing to the organization’s strategic goals. Elements of the treasury and cash management functions for the division will align under the responsibility of the REVELxp Corporate finance team. The Finance Director plays an integral role in the operations of the business, working directly with the leadership and management teams. This role reports to the EVP of Venue Operations with additional or dual reporting to the REVELxp CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties include but not limited to:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings; Perform month-end tasks: review and approve purchasing card transactions, preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, financial reports. Ensure accuracy and provide data-driven guidance to facilitate divisional decision-making. Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure the division meets key financial goals
- Manage all accounting functions: accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Lead the development of reliable operational budgets and forecasts
- Assist with monitoring internal controls, recommending, and implementing improvements
- Supervise a direct team providing technical direction and assistance. Inspire the continued development of the team, ensuring appropriate growth of each team member, while fostering a spirit of continuous improvement
- Analyze and review business contracts to ensure compliance, identify any risks, and ensure financial goals are met
- Provide support for external audits and preparation of tax related documentation.
- Ensure business and regulatory compliance for various filings, including personal property tax returns, state business reporting filings, unclaimed wage reporting, etc.
- Perform business and financial audits as needed
- Partner with cross-functional teams on enterprise-wide projects
- Interact with REVELxp finance and other key business leaders to properly align policies and controls with business operations, uncovering synergies, risks and opportunities and ensuring ongoing compliance with implemented policies and procedures
- Facilitate a culture of teamwork and excellence amongst the division
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification preferred
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- 8+ years of accounting experience that can include accounting operations, tax, and/or audit
- Proficiency in financial principles (GAAP), accounting, and budgeting processes
- Experience in a fast-paced, growing business with multiple entity reporting and condensed deadlines
- Extensive experience with ERP systems and other reporting tools
- Strong Excel skills with advanced formula knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement tactically to consistently deliver results and prioritize tasks effectively
- Driven, results-oriented, demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail
- Well-developed skills in diplomacy and collaboration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to a non-financial audience
- Strong internal customer service focus, with strong interpersonal skills working across all company levels
- Ability to use independent judgment and work under pressure on competing responsibilities with resilience, and a high level of ownership
- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion in appropriately handling sensitive information
