Overview
The Marine Expeditionary Force (MESF) Force Development Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports Maritime Expeditionary Security Group ONE (MESG ONE) Force Generation Professional Support Services at Navy Outlying Field Imperial Beach, California. MESG ONE develops and generates trained Maritime Expeditionary Security Force units for operational employment throughout the Navy's numbered fleets.
The MESF Force Development SME supports the analysis and development of future MESF training, readiness, doctrine, and operational requirements. The SME evaluates emerging capabilities, researches evolving Navy requirements, and develops recommendations to help ensure MESF training and readiness programs remain aligned with operational needs and the broader Navy expeditionary enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze MESF warfighting programs to assess future training and readiness requirements in support of the Optimized Fleet Response Plan (OFRP) and Fleet Response Training Plan (FRTP)
- Evaluate emerging capabilities, including future patrol boats and new ground and maritime systems, for integration into MESF training and operational employment
- Research and recommend updates to align MESF doctrine, policy, and guidance with Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC), NECC Pacific (NECCPAC), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and other Navy enterprise stakeholders
- Support integration of MESF units into the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) process
- Support NECC exercise planners with resource allocation, scheduling, and sequencing of MESF training events within joint and allied exercise design
- Develop and deliver written products and oral briefings for MESF leadership and organizations within the broader community of interest
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent NECC and/or Navy expeditionary experience developing training and readiness initiatives, obtained within the last 5 years
- Minimum 8 years of operational, training, and readiness experience involving warfare qualification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience preparing and delivering oral briefings and written communications for leadership and organizations within the relevant community of interest
Desired
- MESF experience
- Operational, training, and readiness experience within an expeditionary community
- Fluency in the use of civilian and/or Government artificial intelligence (AI) assistance tools
Security Clearance
- Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance
