Description
The Patient Access Preceptor is responsible for secondary training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating patient access staff on managing the healthcare financial cycle. Ensure accurate collection and entry of patient information, verify insurance details, and assist with resolving registration issues. In addition to managing workflow and providing training to registration staff, the Preceptor may also handle complex registration cases and serve as a liaison between departments to ensure a smooth admission process, often utilizing systems like Cerner and providing feedback on front-end, mid-revenue, and back-end billing processes.
Shift: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED.
- Three years of healthcare registration, insurance verification, or revenue cycle management experience, preferred
- Proficiency working in electronic health record systems (i.e. Cerner) strong communication, and adult education techniques, desired.
- Knowledge of patient access procedures.
- Ability to operate a computer, basic office equipment and multi-line telephone system.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
