Position Summary
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for promoting positive public relations for Cavalier Healthcare, maintaining professional relationships with referral sources and transferring facilities, and coordinating the admission process to ensure timely, efficient, and appropriate resident admissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote positive public relations within the surrounding community and with transferring facilities.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate community involvement activities, including health fairs and other outreach events.
- Obtain and review pre-admission documentation to assist with admission decisions.
- Coordinate the facility Admission Committee to review referral information and facilitate timely admission decisions.
- Notify transferring facilities when additional information is needed to complete the admission review process.
- Complete the required Pre-Admission Screening (PAS) documentation to determine eligibility for admission.
- Notify transferring facilities of admission decisions in a timely manner.
- Meet with residents and family members to schedule admission dates and times.
- Coordinate resident admissions with facility departments to ensure a smooth admission process.
- Complete the admission process as needed.
- Enter resident information into the computer system as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and promote resident rights.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, referral sources, and government regulators.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with facility policies regarding fire safety, sanitation, infection prevention, bloodborne pathogens, and the Hazard Communication Program, and promptly report any violations to the Administrator.
- Attend and provide in-service education as indicated.
- Recognize, prevent, and report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of residents in accordance with facility policy.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean environment in which residents may live.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Owner, Governing Board, or Administrator.
- Serve as an active member of the facility team by placing residents as the highest priority.
- Attend facility meetings as designated by the Administrator.
- Work collaboratively with other facility employees to expedite and facilitate the admission process.

Sight: For performing job effectively and correctly
Smell: For accurate detection and maintenance of facility odors
SUMMARY OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE:
Tasks and procedures performed by the employee involve risks classified by C.D.C. as Category III. (No contact with blood or other bodily fluids to which universal precautions apply, if regular duties are performed.)
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to tolerate a high pace as typical for a nursing facility. Must be able to take and give instructions well and enjoy working with the elderly. Although employee is required to sit for prolonged periods of time, he/she must also be able to tolerate prolonged standing and walking.
