Vandor Funeral Products is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Hardwoods manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be more than someone who manages the daily schedule—you’ll be a hands-on leader responsible for building a strong team, developing Team Leaders, improving production performance, and creating an environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement come first.

Schedule: This is a 1st Shift, Salary Exempt position that works a 4x10 schedule (Monday-Thursday, 5am-3:30pm).

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of day-to-day production operations while helping your team succeed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and directly supervise Team Leaders while supporting the development and performance of production Team Members 
• Organize staffing and allocate Team Members based on changing production demands 
• Coordinate daily production priorities, schedules, job start-ups, and workflow 
• Coach, train, and develop Team Leaders and Team Members, including supporting cross-training across production areas 
• Monitor daily production, quality, safety, and operational performance and take action when improvements are needed 
• Partner with Production Planning to ensure production priorities align with current and future customer needs 
• Work closely with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing issues and minimize production delays 
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, cost, and overall production performance 
• Monitor equipment utilization and support preventative maintenance efforts 
• Build a positive, accountable team culture where communication and collaboration are encouraged 
• Ensure company procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and production standards are consistently followed 

The position has meaningful responsibility for both the operation and its people, including direct supervision of Team Leaders and continuous improvement of quality and cost performance.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a leader who can balance people leadership with production results. The right candidate will be comfortable making decisions, addressing problems on the floor, communicating expectations, and motivating a team to perform at its best.

Qualifications: 

• 3–5 years of manufacturing management experience 
• High school diploma or GED with additional relevant education or experience 
• Previous experience working in a production/manufacturing environment. 
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, motivate, and hold others accountable 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on training others 
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments while also making independent decisions 
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize technology needed to support production 
• Ability to successfully complete Vandor's Forklift Certification program and safely operate a Forklift for day-to-day production needs.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position that requires significant time on the production floor. The role includes standing and walking on concrete floors for much of the day, working around varying temperatures, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
