We are searching for an experienced candidate for the position of Event Management Specialist in Arlington, VA.
Summary
Supports Army National Guard event request packets, policy and data analysis, conference reporting, and the execution of assigned Tier 2 and Tier 3 events from initial submission through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, review, compile, track, and monitor ARNG event request packets in ETMS2 through completion.
- Coordinate with action officers and workflow managers to ensure complete packets are submitted within established policy guidelines and suspense dates.
- Research DoD, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and ARNG conference policies to evaluate packet compliance and identify documented shortfalls.
- Recommend potential solutions for packet deficiencies and incorporate approved process changes into internal control procedures.
- Support annual and ongoing conference reporting, including collection and validation of event data for the DoD Conference Tool.
- Conduct data mining in conference planning and SharePoint submission tools and prepare charts, graphs, memoranda, and analytical products.
- Build and maintain tracking spreadsheets for packet status, event activity, registration, lodging, and required reporting.
- Execute assigned Tier 3 and Tier 2 events and maintain communication with action offices through event completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or in lieu of education must have 8 years of relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of relevant event management, conference support, program support, or administrative experience
- Experience reviewing policy or regulatory requirements and translating them into accurate administrative products
- Strong written communication, editing, research, data analysis, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to maintain accurate tracking spreadsheets, correspondence, and briefing materials
- Complete required ETMS2 training before system access and maintain required security-awareness training
- Must be available to support in-person requirements at ARNG Headquarters, Arlington, VA, as needed
- Must possess an active Secret Clearance-Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD or National Guard conferences and applying CNGBI 8100.01A conference policy
- Hands-on experience with ETMS2 and the Department Conference Reporting Tool
- Experience with SharePoint conference data, data mining, and policy-compliance analysis
