Vertiplex Ladle Treatment - 2nd Shift

Description

This position requires the Team Member to operate a 7-ton crane using a pendant, to weigh-up ductile alloys, load these alloys into a treatment ladle and fill the ladle with iron. The operator then transfers the treated iron then fills one of two pressure pour furnaces. Additional duties include pouring base iron from the Melt Department into the Vertiplex Holding Furnace, cleaning slag from various spouts using a jackhammer, and taking temperatures and metallurgical tests. 


1st shift = $25.88

2nd shift = $27.13

3rd shift = $26.88

PLUS additional compensation available for this position:

  • Additionally, incentive pay rates are available to qualified Team Members

Requirements
  • Ability to operate cranes.
  • Ability to operate and use a jackhammer.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs frequently; and, occasionally up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Ability to work in high heat environments which includes molten metal.
  • Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures and requirements.
