Who is VMRC?
VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. It also provides wellness programs, educational opportunities, and arts and cultural activities for residents and the wider community.
Salary Range: $23.87- $32.23
The Life Enrichment Manager position provides leadership and oversight for the Life Enrichment Team. Coordinates assessments, care plans, and documentation for Assisted Living residents in compliance with state regulations. Supervises Life Enrichment Program Specialists who are responsible for planning and implementing meaningful activities for residents in Assisted Living. Inspires excellence in program content based on the dimensions of wellness and innovative intergenerational relationships. Integrates the use of volunteers and student interns with the Life Enrichment Team. Contributes positively to the Wellness and Community-Based Services team at VMRC.
This position is a salaried, exempt position. Salary will be determined based on previous experiences and qualifications.
- Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and at least two years’ experience facilitating and coordinating programs for older adults in a supportive environment.
- Possess experience and/or a strong desire to work with residents who have dementia and/or physical limitations.
- Ability to effectively work with leadership, the Wellness and Community Based Services team, staff, residents, and community members.
- Ensures activity programs comply with state and federal regulations.
- Computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Physically able to escort residents in wheelchairs and assist with loading/unloading vehicles.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing using the English language with ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.
- Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely, and accommodate changes.
- Demonstrated customer service with internal and external customers.
- Must have a current Virginia Driver’s license, in good standing.
- Must have First-Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain certification within 90 days of employment).
- Additionally, candidate must be willing to work towards an Activities Director Certification (ADC) or Activity Assistant Certification (AAC).
