Job Description
- Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Citrix certifications as applicable
- Broad knowledge of Network and Server systems with a strong ability to understand complex environments in order to perform a thorough root cause analysis Knowledge in System Patching and Virus protection Products
- Knowledge in distributed backup solutions and procedures of different hardware and software vendors, including but not limited to HP, NetApp, EMC, and Dell hardware, and CA and Symantec software
- Must have strong knowledge in enterprise System design including virtualization, SAN, DAS, and NAS Systems, data replication and consolidation
- Knowledge of the Network protocol TCP/IP, including sub-netting and routing
- Experience in translating business requirements and designs into technical designs
- High level of written communication and documentation skills
- Experience with Government IS Security C&A processes
- Good Technology Messaging Administrator
- Good Technology Messaging experience preferred
- MS Exchange certifications Desirable

- U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
- A+ Certification or higher required
- Security+, Network+, HDI or ITIL certifications desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Must be able to obtain a DOE Q clearance
