What is the role of the Transportation Division?

Our Transportation Division exists to deliver materials and equipment to our crews and customers. We have many different types of trucks to drive.

Requirements

What is a Tri-Axle Driver?

  • This person drives our dump trucks. They haul asphalt, granite, sand, and other materials to and from our projects.
  • License Requirements: Class B

What is a Low Boy Driver?

  • This person transports equipment from job to job for our crews.
  • License Requirements: Class A

What is a Liquid Tanker Driver?

  • This person hauls liquid asphalt from the terminal in North Charleston to our Summerville and N Charleston Asphalt Plants.
  • License Requirements: Class A with tanker and hazmat endorsements

What is a Cement Tanker Driver?

  • This person hauls cement from the cement plants in Holly Hill to our reclamation job sites throughout the Lowcountry.
  • License Requirements: Class A

What is a Tack Truck driver?

  • This person fills up with tack at our N Charleston facility, drives to our jobs, and sprays tack to prep the road for paving. This person spends their day with the paving crew.
  • License Requirements: Class B with tanker endorsement

What is a Fuel Truck driver?

  • This person transports fuel from our asphalt plants to equipment on various jobsites. 
  • License Requirements: Class B with tanker and hazmat endorsements

What is a Sweeper Truck Driver?

  • This person works with the paving crew to sweep the road properly before and/or after milling and paving operations. This work occurs on all different types of jobs from residential to interstates.
  • License Requirements: Class B

Who you are:

  • 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times
  • Ability to drive all hours of the day, all days of the week, working within the Department of Transportation on/off duty regulations
  • Class A or B CDL and clean three (3) year Motor Vehicle Record
  • Ability to use a smart phone
