Position Overview:
Performs exams utilizing the principles of ALARA. Current certification in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (CRT), Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist license (ARRT) in radiology and CT required.
Essential Functions
Thoroughly explains procedure to the patient and/or family in order to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety. Performs exams utilizing the principles of ALARA. Addresses patient’s concern regarding radiation exposure.
Routinely questions the patient prior to an x-ray/CT procedure to obtain an adequate history. Verifies pregnancy status of female patients of childbearing age.
Ensure all results and pertinent information are available in patients’ medical records and faxes all results to outside ordering providers.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate supplies, maintain a clean, safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
Maintains confidentiality per federal and California law and hospital policy.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
All other duties as assigned by radiology manager or administrator.
Start IV line for outpatient CT scans requiring contrast.

Required Education and Experience
Possession of current and valid California certificate in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (CRT)
Current BLS CPR certification
Prior experience working with EMR (electronic medical records) required.
Preferred Education and Experience
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists license (ARRT)in radiography and CT preferred.
Current additional California certificate (fluoroscopy not applicable) or ARRT license preferred.
Valid California Venipuncture certificate preferred.
One year minimum experience performing a variety of musculoskeletal exams.
Trauma radiography experience strongly recommended.
Satisfactory completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology (must have digital training as part of educational program or proof of completion of digital training).
