If your idea of a great summer is a day outdoors with children and fellow staff, chock-full of activities, trips, friendships and personal growth -- this is the job for you! It's a perfect fit for energetic high school and college students, teachers, youth workers, and graduate students who love children, outdoor activity, and making a difference. We look for people who are enthusiastic, creative, skilled in a teaching area, and genuinely interested in working with children. Our counselors to camp ready to “give of themselves” and have the necessary levels of maturity, common sense, dependability, trust, and selflessness required to work with children. At least 60% of our staff returns year after year.
What do you get from the PSDC experience?
Being a PSDC staff member builds marketable skills including effective communication, leadership, teamwork and collaboration, patience, and adaptability. While this is a serious and a responsible job, our days are full of fun and everyone loves our staff outings and parties. Perhaps the best part of being on our staff are the friendships that last a lifetime.
What do our Counselors do?
- Help campers grow by providing opportunities for each camper to experience success.
- Take responsibility for the health, well-being, and happiness of your campers.
- Contribute to the culture of kindness that we are so well known for.
- Participate in activities.
- Participate in ongoing staff development.
- Be someone your campers love, respect, and look up to.
- Learn to work effectively with a group of amazing people.
- Must be at least 17 years old at the start of the season.
- Must enjoy working with children and have experience, which includes babysitting and volunteer work.
- Must be available to work 5 full days per week for a minimum of 6 weeks between Monday, July 3 and Friday, August 25, 2023. Attendance and punctuality are critical.
- Must be able to complete mandatory pre-camp staff training and orientation which take place over the course of the last two weekends in June and the weekdays in between.
- Present regulations require that you must be fully vaccinated.
