Job Summary:


The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s safety programs. This role focuses on conducting safety inspections, assisting with training, monitoring compliance, documenting incidents, and building a strong safety culture across operations.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine floor safety observations and document findings.
  • Assist with hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and corrective action tracking.
  •  Support the creation and updating of safety SOPs, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and training materials.
  •  Deliver toolbox talks and help facilitate monthly safety meetings.
  •  Support onboarding safety training for new hires.
  •  Communicate safety reminders, updates, and findings to supervisors and employees.
  •  Maintain safety logs (PPE, inspections, training records, SDS files, etc.).
  •  Assist in internal audits for OSHA, CAA/BRC, and customer compliance requirements.
  •  Conduct basic incident investigations and prepare initial reports.
  •  Perform inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, spill kits, first-aid stations, lockout/tagout equipment, and other safety devices.
  •  Walk production floors daily to identify unsafe conditions.
  •  Monitor housekeeping, chemical storage, ergonomics, and equipment guarding issues.
  •  Work with Production, Maintenance, QC, and HR to ensure safe work practices.
  •  Participate in safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications


• Interest or background in occupational safety, industrial engineering, operations, HR, or related fields.

• Strong communication skills; ability to speak confidently with employees at all levels.

• Proven experience and working knowledge of OSHA regulations

• Strong documentation, observation, and follow-through skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software.

• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments.

• Certifications such as OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
