Current and aspiring Laser Operators look no further! WST FAB is looking to add Laser Operators to our team! This opportunity is great for someone who has a team player mindset but is comfortable working independently, is highly motivated, resourceful, and has a desire for continuous learning and development.

  • A work/life balance! All of our shifts allow for ample time off. With our 1st and 2nd shifts working 4-10’s and our weekend shift working 3-12’s (but getting paid for 40 hours). 
  • Some extra $. Pay for this position is based on experience PLUS you will receive a $2 hourly shift differential if you work 2nd or weekend shift.

What you will do: 

  • Manufacture parts per plant specification in an accurate and timely manner utilizing laser machine centers.
  • Load and unload materials on and off the machines.
  • Follow instructions on the process and procedures to run machines.
  • Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for processes completed.
  • Work with other shifts on the remaining work, issues, shift to shift notes, etc.
  • Basic maintenance of machines including cleaning machines, cleaning the dust collector & greasing specific grease points.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Requirements

What knowledge/experience we are looking for: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as work orders and      blueprints.  
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. 
  • Effective written and oral communication.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to walk, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders and move from place to place. The incumbent will regularly stand, sit, and talk and listen and will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or touch. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Frequently working on foot, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail bending and stooping.

Work Environment: 

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
