Since 1995, our Mission at Eligibility Consultants, Inc. (ECI) has been to assist self-pay hospital patients find the means to pay their medical bills through participation in various government assistant programs. ECI’s solutions encompass every potential self-pay patient from the lowest dollar outpatient and ER account to the most complex long-term disability.

Job Summary 

The Bilingual (English-Spanish) Financial Assistance - Clerical Support position’s main responsibility is to monitor and manage the Baylor Charity Box and respond to related emails for  clearance of the financial assistance applications. Additional time will be used in assisting with regular clerical activities and ensuring a collaborative team  environment and communicating regularly with others. This person works on-site at the hospital.


Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities


• Reviews hospital financial assistance applications -FAA Box daily 

• Responds promptly to emails and requests from social workers, care coordinators, and business office staff on a daily basis

• Carefully reviews account notes in the hospital system to determine FAA clearance

• Meets with patient or patient’s family onsite as needed to advance completion of charity application

• Contacts patient or family by phone or email to request pending FAA documents 

• Forwards/faxes FAA and/or documents obtained for FAA clearance to the hospital FC for review

• When/if charity duties are cleared, assists with other clerical duties such as filing cases away, scanning, etc.

• Complies with all state and federal laws regarding HIPAA and confidentiality requirements

• Able to remain focused and productive under pressure

• Demonstrates respect for all individuals

• Other duties as assigned 


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma / GED (or higher)

• Bilingual English-Spanish

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Able to work 40 hours onsite Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm


Physical and Work Requirements:

• Long periods walking, standing, frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or    mouse, extensive periods working at a computer

Vaccinations required (No Covid-19 Vaccine required)
