Status: 72-80 hours per two week pay period

Shift: Days

Job Schedule: Full time

Job Summary


Organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital and its outreach services to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps the patient reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities

Requirements
  • Baccalaureate, Master's or Doctorate Degree with satisfactory completion of the physical therapist training program in an accredited school of physical therapy.
  • Current South Dakota licensure as a physical therapist.
  • Physical stamina requisite to lift, carry and/or otherwise move and manipulate the equipment used in evaluation and treatment.
  • Physical stamina requisite to standing, walking, stooping, pulling, pushing and lifting while transporting or transferring patients and performing treatments.
  • Visual, auditory and speech acuity requisite to verbal and written communication with patients, families, physicians and other persons involved with the patient's care.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves almost constant one to one contact with patients.
  • Work is intermittently light (exerting/lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly) to moderately heavy (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly) or heavy (exerting/lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently and 20 pounds constantly) and is usually performed inside in a well lit, heated air conditioned space.
