Summary: Professional, experienced in the sale of truck parts, whose primary responsibility is to assist customers over the phone and in person with the selection of the correct parts based on their needs.

Front Parts Counter Job Responsibilities:

This position has 2 primary components: (1) assisting walk-in customers, and (2) answering incoming calls and proactively reaching out to current and prospective customers to make sales.

• Assist walk-in customers selecting required parts, ensuring they are informed of companion part requirements and specials
• Answer phones in a timely, professional manner, according to Company established guidelines, and provide quotes and other information
• Solicit assigned accounts by phone
• Provide high level of customer service to internal/external customers
• Maintain organized records of invoices and special-order parts
• Participate in maintaining a lost sales tracking program
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders
• Assist warehouse by restocking and pulling parts as necessary
• Pull and fill orders from stock
• Receive payment from customers or obtain credit authorization, and ensure all charge sales are signed by the customer
• Issue credit for parts returned
• Replenish assigned inventory daily
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
• Keep front counter area clean and uncluttered
• Participate in training programs as required

Front Parts Counter Qualifications:

Successful candidates will be or possess:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• One (1) year prior experience in a similar position in the heavy-duty transportation industry
• Regularly required to lift/transfer up to 50 pounds, and occasionally required to lift/transfer up to 75 pounds
• Regular, reliable attendance and willingness/ability to work overtime
• Excellent customer service skills, professional demeanor and appearance, and able to work cohesively as a member of the team
• Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
• Working knowledge of dealer software (CDK) preferred
• Competent in the use of computers – MS Office and email
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing with no major/minor violations/accidents in the last 5 years
• Forklift certification preferred
• Demonstrate high degree of organization, a sense of urgency and strong listening skills

· Frequently required to walk or stand, and lift/move up to 50 pounds

· Occasionally required to lift/move up to 100 pounds

· Regularly required to talk and hear, use hands to finger or feel, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

· Specific vision abilities required: 

· Close, distance, color vision

· Depth perception and ability to focus

Compensation Range Disclosure: In compliance with New Jersey’s pay transparency regulations, we are disclosing the compensation range for this position. The hourly wage range for this position is $23-$35 an hour, depending on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
