Summary: The Application and Simulation Support Engineer provides technical expertise to support PADT’s customers while also assisting PADT’s customers while also assisting PADT's ANSYS sales team through strategic pre-sales and technical scoping activities, utilizing engineering knowledge, simulation experience, problem-solving, enthusiasm, written and verbal communication, and an eagerness to learn. 

Experience in simulation software using LS-DYNA is required (either LSTC LS-DYNA or Ansys LS-DYNA), with automotive crash simulation a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

• Enthusiastically answer customer questions on software utilization, applicability, and help identify and implement workarounds for customer problems
• Keep accurate records of customer interactions including use of a Customer Relations Management system
• Look for opportunities to improve processes for PADT customers as well as within PADT
• Support PADT’s software sales team by acting as the technical resource throughout the sales process
• Be present virtually and in person with PADT’s sales team and prospects and customers, using sales knowledge and technical skills to help move sales opportunities to the next level.  
• Help Identify potential customers and help match PADT’s and ANSYS’ solutions to customers’ needs
• Define customer requirements and help determine customer processes and workflows
• Create and present technical product demonstrations to customers and prospects. 
• Perform benchmarking with ANSYS tools and collect various performance and accuracy metrics
• Educate colleagues on areas of expertise and participate in training to grow into other expertise areas
• Assist in the development of formal sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy
• Coordinate and deliver sales collateral, such as presentations to customers and prospects
• Present PADT’s expertise and capabilities to prospects and customers and help to grow relationships
• Create training material as needed and conduct training classes as needed.
• Develop technical marketing material including tutorials, blog postings, and videos 
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field AND least 3 years of professional experience
• Minimum 3 years experience with LS-DYNA
• US Citizen or US Resident Alien
• Able to speak English clearly and be understood
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical information
• Able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers
• Able to write presentations and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
• Strong theoretical understanding of mechanical structures, dynamics, heat transfer, fatigue, and engineering math as relevant to degree and experience
• Knowledgeable in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software as well as have a fundamental understanding of compute system resources and requirements for numerical engineering simulation
• Experience with and able to use scripting or programming such as with Python, C++ or similar
• Must be able to travel by air and possess a valid vehicle drivers’ license

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Experience using Ansys simulation tools
• Experience in automotive crash simulation
• Experience in aerospace simulations
•  Expertise with at least one ANSYS Simulation software product strongly preferred.
