ASSOCIATE BEH. HEALTH THERAP
Description

The Associate Behavioral Health Therapist is the entry level Therapist position of the Behavioral Health Integration team. Working under the clinical direction of the assigned LCSW or LMFT, the Associate Therapist assists the primary care team in addressing the behavioral health needs of mild to moderate functionally impaired patients of the health center. The Associate Therapist provides talk therapy, diagnosis, treatment planning, clinical impressions and safety evaluations, brief intervention and psychoeducation to primary care patients, including family and group therapy as appropriate, under the supervision of the LCSW. In an effort to improve patient health literacy, the Associate BHT consults with medical providers, substance use disorder counselors, and the psychiatry team as part of the multidisciplinary approach to care.

Requirements
  • Completion of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; AND 
  • Registration with the State of California as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Psychologist Assistant.
  • Associate Clinical Social Workers (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT) or Psychologist Assistant must maintain current and valid licensure with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Department of Psychology. Failure to maintain a current and valid registration may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
