Summary:

Demco is growing and is seeking Industrial/Manufacturing Engineers. Demco provides a competitive compensation & benefits package that takes into account your skills, and expertise. This position will work out of our Boyden, IA facility.


Primary Duties:

  • Design and improve processes of the manufacturing systems with a strong emphasis on quality, productivity, and operating costs by implementing lean concepts and sustaining ISO
  • Manage projects to reduce non-value added activities
  • Research and implement new tools and technology, including assisting with the quoting and purchasing process
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, and production equipment
  • Design and create minor jigs and fixtures
  • Administer and process time studies and line balancing
  • Develop work instructions and provide training to production personnel
  • Implement continuous improvement/Lean principles
  • Assist with design for manufacturability for new products using the 7 stages of design process
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance group to effectuate equipment upgrades and improvements
  • Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Prepare charts for representation of statistical data
  • Work with and support ISO 9001 work instructions and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and files

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Experience with fixtures and robotic welding or fabrication including press brake
  • Project management skills - ability to organize and manage multiple projects through manufacturing process
  • Must be able to effectively present information to clients, customers and employees
  • Must have strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry
  • Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and possess a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement in all areas
  • Must be safety minded and practice shop safety
  • Must be self motivated to work independently
