WHAT IS SKILL UP 26 TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM?


An accelerated opportunity for professional growth and development of technical skills and knowledge through mentorship, instructor-led and computer-based learning, and on-the-job training for entry-level technicians. This 26-week, paid program prepares technicians for a rewarding career with Louisiana Cat – earn while you learn! 


ELIGIBILITY FOR THIS PROGRAM includes:

  • REQUIRED: Completion of a High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • REQUIRED: Proven mechanical aptitude
  • Coursework in or completion of an automotive or diesel educational program (high school, technical/trade, college)
  • Prior experience in automotive or diesel maintenance and repair
  • Prior military experience in equipment or diesel maintenance and repair
  • Prior experience maintaining or repair of farm equipment
  • Strong customer service skills, mechanical aptitude, professional demeanor and always "safety-first" mentality every hour of every day

HOW IT WORKS


Each trainee is required to participate in the Skill Up 26 program. Trainees will move through the program with a cohort of peers for 26 weeks, following an outlined training schedule. Trainees will complete hands-on training as guided by their mentor(s) who will evaluate them on a weekly basis. To ensure progress, trainees will also be evaluated by their direct supervisor at 12 weeks and 24 weeks. Upon completion of the program and all of its requirements, trainees will immediately be eligible for promotion within Louisiana Cat. 100% of the Skill Up Training program is paid by the company - seize your opportunity to learn a skilled trade while earning a paycheck! TRAINEE FIRST YEAR EARNING POTENTIAL
$45,000 - $60,000 yearly range
The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician’s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked.

  • WORK SHIFT: 12 hour days / some weekend; variety of shifts (specifics will be discussed during interviews)
