The position of Executive Director is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of Walden Community Services’ (WCS) administration, service delivery quality, recruitment, compliance, budgeting, financial objectives, program development, reporting and strategic planning.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the leader of WCS in all aspects of administration and ethical, quality service provision
With support from the CEO, COO and CFO, develop an annual program budget to be managed monthly and reviewed quarterly for adjustments
Work with the WCS leadership team, consisting of the Clinical Director and CBHI/DCF Program Director, to develop and revise policies and procedures
Lead the interviewing and hiring process for all WCS leadership positions
Ensure that the program meets the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, and all other relevant agencies as may be required; maintain licenses and renegotiate contracts with these agencies
Maintain contracts and both public and private insurance approvals with agencies from all relevant payors
Own the coordination of successful staff recruitment
Responsible for referrals for services to WCS
Provide direct supervision to the Clinical Director, CBHI/DCF Program Director, and Administrative Assistant
Assist the leadership team in supporting the supervision of other members of the WCS team as needed
Ensure that quality consultation, educational, therapeutic and other services are provided in a manner compatible with the mission and philosophy of The Learning Center for the Deaf
Responsible for the productivity, as measured by billable time, for all service providers within WCS
Program Development, Strategic Planning and Quality
Establish and implement a plan to ensure that schools, agencies, providers and communities serving deaf families who might be in need of WCS services are kept informed of program development and current or anticipated openings
Ensure the completion of the necessary documentation to obtain and retain COA and other accreditations
Ensure the successful establishment, and ongoing management of, once open, an out-patient mental health clinic
With the leadership team, develop short and long-range goals for program development and expansion of services
Ensure that WCS is represented as presenters and participants in conferences relevant to the work of the program
Pursue options for the development of services as alternatives, or in addition to, treatment for the population served
Work with the Advancement Office to identify and pursue grants and contracts applicable to the services of WCS
Work collaboratively with state agencies to improve the quality of services for the population served
Other key duties include assisting in marketing and community engagement of WCS and The Learning Center for the Deaf at large
Maintain responsibility for creation, submission and adherence to the WCS Annual Budget
Approve payroll bi-weekly
Approve vendor contracts and payments in alignment with the mission, strategic plan and budget parameters
Communicate regularly the financial status of WCS, and execute plans to administer corrective financial action as needed
Participate as an active member of the Senior Administrative Team at The Learning Center for the Deaf
