POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, the Housekeeping/Custodial Staff members will maintain a safe, professional, respectful, and positive atmosphere for our members and guests. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Must be able to work evenings with a schedule of 4 pm- 10 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
- Other duties may include but are not limited to window washing, meeting setup, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other maintenance and custodial responsibilities.
- Records and reports all needed repairs and may need to perform repairs as directed.
- Ensures YMCA buildings and properties are secure during shifts and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and pass a pre-employment physical
- All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six months or more related experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals as well as their safe and efficient uses.
- CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of the community and social and economic segments of the community.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends with a schedule of 4 pm- 10 pm

? Ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms

? Must be able to coordinate a variety of large and small tasks simultaneously
? Must be able to handle stress and tension in a positive manner
? Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust
? Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment, which may involve, but is not limited to, the following activities: semi-reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces that may be underground, overhead or at ground level. Twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs and lying on the stomach and/or back.

This hourly position has a schedule from 4 pm through 10 pm.
