Job Summary: 


The Barback supports the bartending team by maintaining the bar area, ensuring it remains stocked, clean, and organized. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient service, allowing bartenders to focus on customer interaction and drink preparation. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, attentive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Functions:

  1. Stocking and Replenishing:
    • Ensure the bar is always stocked with glassware, garnishes, ice, and other supplies.
    • Replenish liquor, beer, and wine supplies from storage to the bar as needed.
    • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding low stock.
  2. Cleaning and Maintenance:
    • Clean and sanitize bar areas, including countertops, sinks, and glassware.
    • Remove empty bottles and trash, ensuring a tidy workspace.
    • Regularly check and maintain cleanliness of bar equipment.
  3. Support Bartenders:
    • Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes, refilling mixers, and other prep tasks.
    • Collect and wash used glassware from bartenders and return clean glassware to the bar.
    • Respond quickly to bartender requests to maintain a seamless service flow.
  4. Customer Service:
    • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Assist with delivering drinks to customers if necessary.
    • Address any immediate customer needs and direct more complex inquiries to bartenders or management.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
    • Follow proper alcohol handling procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol service.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages and bar equipment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age to serve alcohol in the state).

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate to noisy environment due to customer activity and bar operations.
  • Fast-paced setting with high customer volume during peak hours.
  • Requirement to stand for extended periods and engage in repetitive motions such as bending and lifting.
