POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to provide an uplifting, distraction-free, and Christ-centered camp experience by 1.) Meeting guests needs to the best of their ability, 2.) Provide a hospitable environment for guests and staff to eat. 3.) Maintain all standards put in place by Food Service manager and the San Diego Health Department. 4.) Work with the rest of the Food Service department to ensure Food service vision is seen by all camp and guests. Celebrate the Prodigal Son.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· The employee must accept the lodging from PCCC as a condition of employment to carry out responsibilities of the fire evacuation plan. The employee would not be able perform this service without the lodging.
· Must take part in the fire evacuation plan for the area that they are assigned.
· 1.) Meeting guests needs to the best of their ability
o Required to get meals out on time
o Organize seating for groups and ensures that tables are appropriately set.
o Coordinate with the Food Service Manager on staggering meal times.
· 2.) Provide a hospitable environment for guests and staff to eat.
o Clean dining hall before and after meals
o Set up and tear down dining hall for meals
o Notify Food Service Manager of needed repairs or safety issues.
o Maintain an inventory of product needed in Dining hall
o Gather feedback from guests by interacting with them during and after meals
· 3.) Maintain all standards put in place by Food Service manager and the San Diego Health Department.
o Assist Food Service Manager in ensuring all guests and staff members follow proper food safety practices.
o Make announcements for guests welcoming them to camp while explaining PCCC meal procedures
o Keep buffet line clean and orderly
o Keep drink station clean and orderly
· 4.) Work with the rest of the Food Service department to ensure Food service vision is seen by all camp and guests. Celebrate the Prodigal Son.
o When needed assist the rest of the Food service department in daily prep and cleaning tasks
o When needed assist other departments around camp to ensure guests have a Christ centered experience.
o Keep regular, timely attendance while maintaining a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace*

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising personal faith through consistent daily living in accordance to God’s Word
- Understands the mission of Palomar Christian Conference Center and is in agreement with its Statement of Faith, and submits all other goals and desires to that main goal
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possesses interpersonal skills such as are required to maintain positive relations with both staff and guests
- Possesses excellent customer service skills and presents a professional appearance and demeanor
- Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities
- Is teachable in managerial and interpersonal skills, is self-directed, flexible, creative and a good communicator.
- Enjoys and relates well with others, exhibits patience and a strong Christian witness.
- Must have or obtain a food handler’s certificate.
- Able to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
