Special Events Childcare Worker
Description

Position Overview:

The Special Events Child Care Worker is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching environment for children during church services, events, and activities. This role involves caring for infants, toddlers, and young children, ensuring their well-being, and engaging them in age-appropriate activities that align with Manna’s mission and values.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Care:

 - Supervise and care for children during small group meetings, central events, and/or requested times from leadership

 - Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.

 - Provide attentive and compassionate care, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child.

Activity Planning & Engagement:

 - Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, stories, and Bible lessons.

 - Engage children in activities that foster their spiritual growth and understanding of Christian values.

 - Encourage positive social interactions among children.

Communication:

 - Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's activities, behavior, and any concerns.

 - Maintain open communication with the Special Events Child Care Coordinator/Director, Manna Kids Director Fayetteville/Ft Liberty and other church staff 

Safety & Cleanliness:

 - Follow all church policies and procedures, to include state guidelines, regarding child safety and well-being

 - Maintain a clean and organized child care area, ensuring that toys, supplies, and equipment are sanitized regularly.

 - Be aware of and respond to any allergies or special needs of the children in your care.

Collaboration:

 - Work closely with other child care workers, serve team members, and church staff to ensure a consistent and supportive environment for the children.

 - Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and church events as required.

Spiritual Development:

 - Model Christian behavior and values, serving as a positive example to the children.

 - Encourage and support the spiritual growth of each child through prayer, Bible stories, and worship activities.

Qualifications:

- Experience:  Previous experience in child care, early childhood education, or a related field is preferred.

- Education: Additional education in early childhood development or a related field is a plus.

- Certifications:  CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain. Child abuse prevention training is a plus.

Skills:

 - Understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.

 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 - Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

 - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Must be a Member of Manna Church


Schedule: 

Availability to work during evening small group meetings, midweek activities, and special events. This will include the possibility of working across different sites. 

Physical Requirements:

 Ability to lift and carry some children, as needed.  Ability to stand, sit, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Salary Description
$8.00 per hour
