Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities within the DoD market space.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay up to date on industry trends and identify potential clients and partners
- Lead capture efforts for opportunities, including developing capture plans, building and managing winning teams comprised of industry partners, and supporting the proposal development process.
- Oversee the development of win strategies, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Analyze and report on capture activities and results, including metrics such as win rate, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that all capture activities are compliant with company policies and procedures, and with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and manage project plans and timelines to ensure that capture activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Manage and coordinate the capture process, including developing proposals and presentations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners to facilitate business growth and enhance our competitive position.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance our visibility and establish thought leadership in the government contracting community.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with company goals and priorities.
- Utilize CRM tools to track and report on business development activities and outcomes.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive capture strategy to identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, technical, finance, and compliance, to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with proposal managers to ensure seamless transition from capture to proposal development.
- Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices to continuously improve capture management processes.
- Mentor and train junior business development staff.
- Provide coaching and guidance to capture team members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs effectively.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Proven experience leading and managing capture teams.
- Proven experience in project management, including developing and managing project plans and timelines.
- Experience in business development, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in winning large-scale contracts and driving revenue growth in a competitive environment.
- Deep understanding of the federal acquisition process, including FAR, DFARS, and other relevant regulations.
- Established network of contacts within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, including developing and implementing comprehensive capture strategies.
- Excellent customer relationship management skills, including negotiating contracts and terms.
- Strong skills in sales, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 10 years or more of experience in business development and capture management within the government contracting industry, with a strong focus on federal markets.
