Description

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director , the Counselor I facilitates treatment and assists the treatment team to which they are assigned.  The Counselor I will work closely with all members of the clinical and administrative staff to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for all clients.  The Counselor I will monitor urine drug screens, work to ensure safe transactions between sessions, and assist as a member of the treatment team in facilitating group and other therapeutic activities.  The Counselor I is responsible for providing daily written documentation on the progress of all assigned clients each day.  Must have a Master's degree, be licensed or license eligible.  Must be able to work as a team.  


Requirements
  • Provides individual, group, and experiential therapy in the integrated sober living residential model 
  • Plans and implements the treatment therapy schedules
  •         Develop an initial and updated treatment plans for each client assigned to you in accordance with DSAMH and CARF standards.  
  • Actively participates in and facilitates group therapy
  • Responsible for all treatment progress notes, tracking daily progress and behavior of clients in treatment to be reviewed and co-signed by the Clinical Director
  • Is required to complete one hour of clinical supervision per week with Clinical Supervisor/Director for every 20 hours of direct client contact.
  • Monitors client urine drug screens and completes necessary documentation
  • Triage with the integrated model team with case management and discharge planning 
  • Clinical outcome Data collection
  •        One year supervised experience in Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health setting 
  •        CADC preferred
