Brake Operator / Mechanic - 2nd shift
Description

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Setup and run production forming jobs using Amada brake presses.
  • Perform forming department related duties as assigned by team leader / supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. 
  • Assume accountability for time management and job tracking.
  • Develop and maintain an open mind to learn new techniques and processes from experienced operators.
  • Troubleshoot issues to ensure the machines maintain a high level of utilization.
  • Organize and combine jobs to maximize machine utilization rates and improve efficiency.
  • Learn and master machine programming and controls to overcome daily obstacles and ensure continuous production flow.
  • Mentor and teach operators to grow and learn new techniques and procedures.
  • Work with programming team as required to overcome machine run-time obstacles.
  • Work with account managers as required to identify and plan production to achieve maximum productivity.
Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and   providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Computer familiarization / proficiency for time / data entry.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Trade School / Vocational Training degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience operating forming machines / brakes.
  • Experience running Amada brakes preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification.

 Physical Requirements:   

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.  Bilingual candidates a definite plus.
