In this right-hand role, you’ll oversee and execute critical projects and strategic initiatives, directly supporting PETA’s President. Help achieve animal liberation through projects large and small, helping ensure they achieve maximum impact. We’re looking for a creative, solution-oriented thinker with experience working closely with executives, someone who thrives on collaboration and is interested in participating in a meaningful way in the animal rights movement.
Position Objectives:
Support PETA’s President in various mission endeavors
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Communicate and execute the President’s strategic initiatives and objectives furthering PETA’s mission
• Conduct research, and carry out projects, assign tasks to other departments and supervise their progress, alert the President to problems and prospects
• Advise on company matters and manage day-to-day operations
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion
• Monitor assigned programs and projects, suggest improvements for efficiency and effect, and report progress
• Perform research projects on a wide range of animal rights topics
• Help equip the president for her appearances and sometimes attend speaking engagements, interviews, and book signings
• Draft responses to inquiries about a wide range of animal rights topics
• Make domestic and international travel arrangements and keep a tight and accurate itinerary
• Interact professionally and diplomatically with PETA donors and others who contact the Office of the President
• Take ownership of assisting the president with her correspondence and other interactions while she is traveling or otherwise unavailable
• Travel within and outside the U.S. on assignments
• Assist various departments, particularly CAP in emergencies
• Professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the president
• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• At least three years of nonprofit experience, previous leadership and/or project management experience preferred
• Previous experience collaborating with executive personnel required
• Exceptional written and verbal professional communication skills including public speaking abilities
• Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office 365 applications and virtual meeting technology as well as a willingness to learn new software
• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
• Demonstrated superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proven project management skills
• Proven effective research skills
• Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• May be required to work occasional nights and/or weekends
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems, identify opportunities, and take a proactive approach to responsibilities
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record

• Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
