Description

 

Staff Ultrasound Technologist must:

· Have an associate degree in sonography, from an institution accredited by The CAAHEP, that prepares students to sit for the certification exam.

Staff Ultrasound Technologist Duties:

· Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern

· Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention

· Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure

· Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results

· Schedule outpatient procedures for Radiology

· Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment

· Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members

· Take Call for emergency procedures after working hours


Requirements

 

Ultrasound technologist at SSCH needs to be:

· ARRT Registered

· A Mississippi license to practice radiography.

· Able to perform x-ray and Ct procedures

· Ultrasound technologist must be a graduate with associate's or bachelor's degree in radiology from an accredited 2 year or 4 year college.

Hours

· Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30

· After hour call weekdays, weekends, and holidays
