JOB SUMMARY
A Produce (Fresh Cut Vegetables) Production Line Worker is responsible for operating machinery and performing manual tasks involved in the processing and packaging of fresh, cut vegetables. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to food safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operating machinery: Operate various equipment, such as cutters, slicers, peelers, and packaging machines, to process vegetables according to specifications.
- Manual tasks: Perform manual tasks, including washing, trimming, and inspecting vegetables for quality.
- Packaging: Package processed vegetables into containers, ensuring accurate labeling and weight.
- Quality control: Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Cleaning and sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Safety: Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Good eyesight and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in food processing or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of specific vegetable varieties and their handling requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily in a food processing plant, which is cold (36 to 45 degrees), noisy, and humid.
- May involve exposure to chemicals and allergens.
