JOB SUMMARY
At Caesars Republic Scottsdale, our Pastry Cook will be responsible for creating a variety of baked goods, pastries, desserts, and other confections. This role involves working with doughs, batters, and diverse ingredients to produce high-quality, visually appealing products. Under the supervision of an Executive Chef, the Pastry Cook will be the creative force behind our bakery offerings, crafting exceptional desserts and pastries that enhance the guest experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Pastry Cook, you’ll be responsible for all pastries, ensure consistency, and deliver unforgettable moments. In this role, you will:
- Prepare pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, tarts, bread, and other desserts from scratch, following recipes and specific guidelines.
- Accurately measure and mix ingredients, ensuring the correct proportions and consistency for doughs and batters.
- Decorate and garnish pastries and desserts to ensure visual appeal, including using icing, fondant, chocolate, and other creative techniques.
- Use a variety of baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and specialized tools, ensuring they are maintained and cleaned regularly.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, ordering ingredients when necessary, and ensuring freshness.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following health and safety standards, including food safety regulations and proper sanitation.
- Ensure the consistency and quality of desserts and baked goods to meet customer expectations and business standards.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate the preparation of desserts with other courses and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for a dedicated, skilled culinary professional. To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen or bakery, particularly in pastry preparation, is preferred.
- Proficiency in baking techniques, decorating, and using specialized tools such as pastry bags, icing tools, and molds.
- A strong eye for detail is important to ensure desserts are both delicious and visually appealing.
- Ability to innovate and create new dessert items while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Ability to work efficiently, manage time well in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
- The job requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy bags of flour or ingredients, and handling hot equipment.
- Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation protocols.
