Job Title: Developmental Disabilities Support Staff

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Developmental Disabilities Support Staff to assist the staff on shift in supervising persons served, supervise activities, and implement general responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have experience working with persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the staff on shift in supervising persons served

• Supervise activities

• Implement general responsibilities

• Collect data, recall facts, develop, analyze, evaluate, recommend, interpret and implement plans

• Maintain accurate records and documentation

• Ensure the safety and well-being of persons served

• Communicate effectively with persons served, their families, and other team members

• Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions as required

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and additional education preferred

• Experience with persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities

• English reading/verbal/writing skills

• Interpersonal skills

• Math skills

• Computer literacy

• Organizational skills

• Driving skills

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of an interdisciplinary team

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time

Valid driver’s license 

Safety Care-QBS Training*

DSP certificated preferred, must obtain DSP certification within 120 days (4 months) of employment.*  

Meet all the requirements per DHS Rule 116 to pass medication*

CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must be obtained within 120 days (4 months) of employment*

*Shore will provide training if not obtained at another location.
