Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with clients in programs to enhance their independence and life skills.
  • Engage in relationship-building, problem-solving, and group decision-making to plan and execute activities.
  • Foster effective communication, safety awareness, and skills among clients.
  • Encourage clients to participate in activities that promote socialization, creativity, and peer relationships.
  • Support clients in choosing and leading activities they enjoy.
  • Utilize strengths-based approaches to enhance clients' independence.
  • Facilitate access to all camp activities available at Life Club, including swimming, outdoor pursuits, crafts, singing, and wellness activities.

Interested applicants must either currently have, or be able to obtain, the following within the first 90 days and will be contingent on employment:

  • Chauffeur's License: Candidates must possess a valid chauffeur's license or be able to obtain one promptly.
  • Medication Manager Certification: Candidates should have or be willing to acquire certification as a medication manager.

We currently are offering a sign on bonus of $2,000 after a successful 90-day orientation and onboarding. This is a contingent offer that is payable with no more than 3 absences in the first 90 days.

Interview process consists of 1st phone interview with Recruitment and Talent Development Coordinator and 2nd in person Department Specifics Team Leader.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and previous relevant experience.

• Experience working with people who have disabilities preferred.

• Certified in CPR (Adult and Child), First Aid or ability to receive certification during first six 90 days

• Ability to successfully complete Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within first 30 days.

• Ability to pass Relational Mandt training.

• Ability to obtain and maintain Iowa Class D Chauffeur’s driver’s license.

• Ability to successfully pass a Medication Management course as needed.

• Must be insurable under Easter Seals Iowa vehicle insurance policy.

• Desire to work in a team environment.

• Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. 

• Ability to write complete sentences and utilize appropriate grammar.

• Ability to operate a computer and navigate through the Easter Seals Iowa database.

• Experience in word processing software; Word and Excel preferred.

• Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift

• Ability to transfer or move a minimum of 80 pounds.

• Access to reliable transportation for regular participation at work


Salary Description
$15.75-$16.00
