Entry Level Panel Welder

Description
  • Works from engineering drawings and Bill of Materials to   fabricate and weld conveyor and components.       
  • Accurately measure and   layout holes and locations for welded components.                   
  • Adjust welder as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of   steel.               
  • Operates welder, grinder, drill, variety of hand/power tools and   measuring devices. Operates overhead   crane and forklift, if certified.                       
  • Completes all required paperwork, records, and documentation.                 
  • Follows and maintains all safety and work rules / regulations   including the proper use of PPE: safety glasses, steel toed shoes, welding   helmet, grinding shield, tight fitted clothing, hearing protection, and   gloves.                        
  • Maintains   departmental housekeeping 5S standards.                       
  • May travel   to customer facilities to perform service work.                       
  • May assist   in training new employees in the safe and most efficient use of fabricating   and welding methods.                        Works in other departments as needed.                    
  • Other duties   as assigned.    
Requirements
  •  Education:  High school diploma or   equivalent                  
  • Training:    On the job as commensurate with this position                
  • Skills:  Sheet metal capabilities preferred. The ability to read and interpret documents   such as blueprints, bill of materials, operating and safety manuals, instructions and procedure / work instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with   others. Possess a good mechanical   ability and can perform basic calculations to operate welding and fabricating   machines.                  
  • Experience:  1 - 3 years trade   training, and/or related experience or combination of education / experience                 
  •  Other: Required to stand, use hands/feet, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, crawl, reach, climb & sit. Must   regularly lift and or move up to 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Visual acuity as needed to perform the job   functions.   
  • Working   Conditions:  Noise level is   somewhat loud. May be exposed to   fumes, sparks, airborne particles, vibration, chemicals, and extreme heat.
