Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure The Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule while also maintaining all equipment used or assigned to your area.
- Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, showers, restrooms, and other assigned areas of the building.
- Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces.
- Keep clean and sanitize all exercise machines, large and small pieces of fitness equipment, and all areas around machines and equipment.
- Perform sidewalk/exterior clean up, such as upkeep of the parking lot.
- Substitute for other custodial and maintenance staff when available.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of whirlpools and pools as required.
- Complete special event and meeting setup as described in the event schedule plan.
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to the Supervisor and Site Lead.
- Follow Emergency Response Plan procedure.
- Follow all OSHA rules and regulations.
- Use chemicals safely and appropriately and ensure proper chemical bottles are labeled accurately.
- Use ladders to reach areas that need to be serviced.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Fill out daily logs including all supply order requests.
- All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Risk Management Duties
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adhere to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Entry Requirements: Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Basic knowledge of cleaning and cleaning supplies is required. Needs to be a self-starter, team player, reliable, and have an eye for detail.
