Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Physician Assistant to join our team and work alongside 3 vitreoretinal specialists. This position offers a unique opportunity to specialize in retinal care, with an emphasis on surgical assistance, alongside gradual growth in clinical responsibilities, interpreting diagnostic studies, and assisting with office procedures. No prior ophthalmic experience is required; however, a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
· Surgical Assistance: Assist the retina specialists during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient operative environment.
· Clinical Support: Gradually increase involvement in clinical duties, including patient consultations, follow-ups, and pre- and post-operative care.
· Diagnostic Studies: Interpret diagnostic studies such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography, and fundus photography.
· Office procedures: Assist with office procedures, including intravitreal injections, under the supervision of the retina specialists.
· Patient Education: Provide patients with information about their conditions, treatment plans, and post-treatment care.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, ensuring compliance with medical and legal standards.
· Team Collaboration: Work closely with the retina specialists and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
· After-hours/Weekend Responsibilities: Will be assigned retina and trauma call

· Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
· Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
· Licensure: Valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
