Tooling Manager Job Description:

The Tooling Manager performs a variety of tasks in the Tooling department. Reports to directly to the Production Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement standard operating processes and procedures in the tooling department to ensure activities are executed per all applicable work instructions/procedures, quality standards, and safety policies and/or procedures in a timely manner.

  • Supervise Tooling Department and all personnel.
  • Direct workload & priorities in the Tooling Department; both tool repair / upgrade and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist program managers with new tool design and troubleshooting new product launch issues related to tooling.
  • Participate in new tool design reviews and approve final mold designs.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to the production floor in resolving problems, using systematic methods of troubleshooting & root cause analysis, which include repair and modification of existing tooling and processes.
  • Monitor and ensure effective methods to track and report tooling status updates in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement (ideas and suggestions)
  • Responsible to follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations
  • Responsible for following all CCP policies and procedures.
  • Any other requested duties.

Adhere to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Several years’ experience and extensive knowledge of injection molds & manifold systems.
  • Excellent attendance, time management & good judgement.
