Description
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Prepares instruments, equipment, and materials for patient care and keeps exam rooms aseptic, neat, and stocked.
- Obtains and documents complete patient data in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepares patients for exams and assists providers with exams, tests, and procedures as needed.
- Provides patients with instructions in preparation for specific procedures and tests when appropriate.
- Performs basic procedures as ordered by the provider and within the scope of practice.
- Proficiently uses computer applications as required for patient care.
- Processes prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- Communicates with patients about concerns, collects information, and relays this information professionally and efficiently to the provider.
- Performs and complies with quality control measures.
- Completes care team calls promptly and assists with other care teams as needed.
- Obtains all necessary medical records for their patients.
- Completes necessary FLMA/STD paperwork.

Requirements
Essential Functions and Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institute.
- Medical Assistant program diploma.
- Certification is required (CMA) (RMA) (CCMA)
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to work in an upright, standing position for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity.
- Work is performed in a medical office setting using standard medical equipment.
Salary Description
$22.00-$26.00
