Description:

DOXA is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Underwriter to provide underwriting decisions in property and casualty for airports all over the U.S. You will underwrite all lines of coverage submitted with proper risk selection and pricing to ensure overall profitability and growth objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate will be experienced in independent rating.

Key Responsibilities:

· Receive application and review for acceptability within program guidelines.

· Refer accounts to Carrier as required when over authority.

· Send documents to UA for reservation clearance. Include specific instructions on rating, account entry, forms, etc.

· Review underwriting reports generated by AU (risk meter, ISO specific rates, protection class, commercial express building valuation, BUR, MVR)

· Negotiate pricing and forms specific to individual risk characteristics.

· Apply limiting coverage forms and /or deductible options as needed.

· Present quotes to broker with proper documentation and subjectivities

· Review all company bulletins and note / follow restrictions as directed in UW moratoriums.

· Complete file documentation as required by company.

· Issue policy in accordance with company requirements including Invoicing.

· Approve/process endorsements including invoicing.

· Review account for profitability at renewal and process quotes within established timelines

· Send all work to compliance for VIN upload and review.

· File Surplus Lines Taxes as required.

What You Will Do:

The workflow of this position is specifically designed to set up the foundation of the underwriting file and act as assistant to the Production Underwriter both in the initial underwriting phase and during the duration of the policy term. Meet timeliness standards of the business.

Job Responsibilities

• Entry and set up account in company EPIC Agency Management System
• Enter account in AIG E-start System (Risk Clearance System)
• Run all underwriting reports as directed by underwriter. This includes (but may not be limited to (Risk Meter, Protection Class, Core Logic (building valuations), BUR, ISO specific rates.
• Create Account Summary Worksheet – (UW File Documentation Form)
• Rate / Quote accounts as directed by underwriter.
• Process Endorsements on all lines of business including Invoicing.
• Act as liaison between Underwriter and Broker in the endorsement process, which can include running new reports, creating surplus lines documents and running MVR’s.
• Create cancellation, non-renewal, and reinstatement notices as directed by underwriting.
• Special Projects as requested by Management Team

• Solid understanding of insurance and underwriting terms, definitions, and processes
• Good communication skills, especially being concise and direct in email correspondence
• Great attention to detail
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
