The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is primarily responsible for servicing, repairing, and replacing fire sprinkler products and repairing fire sprinkler systems to the prescribed standards, identifying code and non-conformance issues, and preparing accurate and timely service ticket reports. A desired candidate performs the full job despite site and weather conditions, can work with little supervision, has professional communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer’s best interest.  


Responsibilities 

 Perform fire sprinkler system repairs, maintenance, and upgrades

 Testing and perform maintenance on fire pumps

 Flow testing and perform maintenance on fire hydrants

 Mix, pour, and mold concrete for fire pumps

 Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.

 Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed 

 Invoice paperwork in a timely manner

 Stay current with code requirements and industry changes

 Attend and complete all required trainings, including safety training

 Perform other related duties as assigned or required 


Requirements

 

Valid driver’s license

High School Diploma or GED 

2 years prior, relevant work experience 

Able to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekend to meet customer needs 

Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs  

Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

Able to travel to multiple job sites each day 

Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiples times a day

High precision/ detail-oriented Professional verbal and written communication skills

Able to work independently, with little supervision

Knowledge of fire systems and tools 

Does not take short-cuts: work effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job


Preferred

CSA Certification 

NICET Certification 

OSHA Certification 

Knowledge working in Profit Zoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity 

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
