POSITION SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for generating new revenue by selling transportation solutions and managing client relationships in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. This role focuses on prospecting, securing, and managing brokerage sales opportunities, where the candidate will leverage knowledge of freight and logistics to drive new business. The role also involves proactive outreach, relationship-building, and utilizing Zipline's technology platforms to ensure seamless customer experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Business Development & Lead Generation: Pursue new business opportunities through phone calls, emails, social media interactions, and networking events like trade shows.
· Prospecting & Onboarding: Prospect, onboard, and develop new customers to build a robust client portfolio.
· Brokerage Sales: Leverage brokerage expertise to negotiate rates, manage freight bookings, and develop long-term relationships with clients. Ensure customer needs are met through effective coordination of transportation solutions.
· CRM Management: Manage and update prospect lists within the Zipline CRM system, tracking leads, sales activities, and follow-up actions.
· Appointment Scheduling: Secure qualified appointments for the Zipline Business Development team and assist with the sales pipeline process.
· Knowledge Development: Develop an in-depth understanding of Zipline's value proposition, service offerings, and interactive marketing strategies to communicate solutions to potential clients effectively.
· Lead Generation & Nurture Campaigns: Utilize the CRM database and various online resources to execute targeted lead generation and nurture campaigns, engaging prospects effectively.
· Performance Reporting: Accurately report on the status of all active business opportunities and track key performance metrics, including calls made, appointments secured, and opportunities generated.
· Industry Engagement: Attend retail trade shows and other relevant events to generate new leads and maintain industry knowledge.
· Collaboration: Support Zipline’s business development efforts and contribute to the development of collaborative sales and marketing strategies.
· Market & Competition Awareness: Maintain a general understanding of market conditions, trends, and competitive landscape to stay ahead of the curve.
· 2-3 years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably within the transportation, logistics, or related industries.
· Experience working with CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.
· Thrives in a role where multi-tasking and problem-solving are the daily norm.
· Ability to speak to a diverse group of professionals in-person and over the phone, large and mid-sized groups.
· Can positively respond to change and adapt to a new customers and business priorities.
