Description
Under the supervision of a Radiologist and Director of Radiology, performs sonographic procedures on patients. Operates and maintains equipment and prepares necessary reports and maintains records.
Requirements
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent and completion of an approved program for medical Ultrasound Technology.
- Personal Job-Related Skills: Knowledge of ultrasound technology and equipment and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Licensure, Registry or Certification: Registered or registry eligible with ARRT or ARDMS registration preferred.
- Prior Work Experience: Experience as a Radiologic Technologist and/or Sonographer preferred.
- Physical and Mental Requirement: Duties of the position require moderate standing, walking, twisting, reaching, and handling of instruments and equipment. Lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional heavy lifting, including lifting and supporting patients that may suddenly become weak or helpless. The Ultrasound Technologist must follows safety scanning measures to ensure that the technologist does not strain themselves while scanning.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty.
- Displays a good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatric patients and geriatric patients.
