Aspen is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist in the Carrollton, Little Elm, Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, Denton, Lewisville, and Argyle
The Occupational Therapist will play a crucial role in assisting patients to regain independence and improve their quality of life through customized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions. The therapist will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others. The Occupational Therapist is an integral part of the Home Health team. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the job responsibilities include the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities, activities of daily living (ADLs), and overall independence.
- Provide skilled therapy services including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic patient care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and adaptive strategies to promote independence and safety.
- Monitor patients' progress, reassess treatment goals as needed, and document accurate and timely clinical notes in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and in-service training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and promote best practices.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and state licensure requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold Aspen Healthcare's policies and procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention implementation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others achieve their highest level of independence and well-being.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advances in the field of Occupational Therapy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)
Prolonged standing and walking required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs, and to make quick decisions and resource acquisition; meet patient and family individualized psychosocial needs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
