Description

Most Pure Heart of Mary Parish in Chamois, MO is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Parish Bookkeeper/Secretary. This is a part time position; 20-30 hours/week. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the financial and administrative functions of the parish. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Greets visitors to the office in a professional and friendly manner

·  Responds to mail, emails, voicemails and telephone calls

·  Assists other staff members when time, energy and skill permit

·  Maintains accurate records and takes minutes of meetings as directed by pastor

·  Serves as secretary to the pastor

·  Performs all payroll activities including onboarding employees, employee data

·  maintenance, time & labor, vacation and sick accrual and processes payroll

·  Attends parish meetings as required and takes minutes

·  Keeps vital statistics for the parish

·  Keeps pastor informed of vital concerns within the parish

·  Creates a weekly bulletin

·  Schedules Eucharistic ministers

·  Clips and files all newspaper ads and articles concerning the parish

·  Maintains positive relationship with parish council members and other volunteers

·  Maintains a reasonable inventory of church supplies

·  Handles routine questions about policies

·  Preparation of payroll, associated taxes and reports

·  Prepare bank deposits and records receipts

·  Prepare vouchers, including coding and payment of outstanding invoices

·  Reconciles parish, school and cemetery books, if applicable

·  Prepares financial statements as requested

·  Attends parish finance council meetings, as requested

·  Maintains tuition and school accounts, if applicable

·  Performs other duties as assigned


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

·  Computer and organizational skills

·  Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

·  3 - 5 years previous training or experience as a bookkeeper

·  Ability to maintain confidentiality

·  Intermediate and accurate mathematical skills
